By using FreeRTOS, a Raspberry Pi PICO W, with dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ and a Wi-Fi chip, I developed an embedded C app to gather 16khz audio samples and transmit them over TCP Sockets to a python TCP Socket server in Real Time. Another version of this program uses SD card storage with FAT File System to store a 1-min sampling and then transmit it through the network.
